UPDATE: Traffic returned to normal after the bomb squad confirmed there was no actual threat. Employees at the Hope & Anchor reported a man who had been arrested earlier in the day may have left a suspicious package in the pub.

Several blocks of North Second Street in Loves Park were shut down Tuesday afternoon while police investigated a bomb threat at a business.

Traffic was detoured around the stretch of Highway 251 between Pearl and Beacon Streets. That's where the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department says its bomb squad dealt with “an incident.” There were reports of a bomb threat at a business in that area. Some homes and businesses near the Hope and Anchor Pub were evacuated.
