Audit Finds State Doing Poor Job Checking Eligibility For Children's Health Insurance Program

An audit of Illinois' "Expanded All Kids" children's health insurance program has found that the state failed to conduct annual eligibility reviews.

The Illinois Auditor General's report looked at the program during Fiscal Year 2013. It finds that 283 individuals were enrolled in the program with more than one identification number. 154 recipients received services totaling more than $111,000 after they turned 19-years-old.
