The Celebration Chorale Christmas Cantata

The Celebration Chorale Christmas Cantata

The Celebration Chorale is pleased to announce the return to live performances, with the Christmas cantata, “There is Peace in the World Tonight,” which will be presented at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, December 3rd and 4th, and Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. The production will be held at First United Methodist Church, 317 North 4th Street in DeKalb.

Although the Celebration Chorale practices and performs at FUMC in DeKalb, the musicians come from all over the area and include professionals and amateurs, longtime Chorale members, and those who are new to the group. The Chorale has singers representing over nine different church denominations and more than 10 local communities. The Celebration Chorale and Orchestra are under the direction of Christine Monteiro.

The church is an accessible facility. Please enter from the Fourth Street ground level entrance to reach the elevator easily. There is parking available adjacent to the church and across Fourth Street. There is no charge for the performances at the church, but there will be a free-will offering.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, attendees will be required to wear masks inside the building. Additionally, there will be no fellowship or post-cantata reception.
