DeKalb County Earth Fest and Screening of "Common Ground"
DeCarbon DeKalb, in collaboration with Northern Illinois University, is proud to present Earth Fest, a FREE, family-friendly Earth Week event dedicated to celebrating local sustainability and fostering community engagement.
Taking place on April 18th at the historic Egyptian Theater in downtown DeKalb, Illinois, Earth Fest promises a festive, inclusive evening filled with exciting activities, educational opportunities, networking, and thought-provoking discussions.
4:30 PM to 6:30 PM: Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an electric vehicle rally, explore information tables highlighting local environmental initiatives, enjoy the kid zone with interactive activities, contribute to an eco-themed community art project, savor delicious fare from a food truck, win prizes, groove to music, and indulge in a social featuring local libations. There will be something for everyone to enjoy at this vibrant celebration of local sustainability.
6:30 PM: Earth Fest will feature the northern Illinois premiere of "Common Ground," a compelling documentary that explores the intersections of agriculture, sustainability, and community. Following the screening, a panel of local experts on regenerative agriculture will lead a discussion, offering insights and perspectives on how we can work together to build a more sustainable future for our community and our planet.
