Event Description

The Rockford Public Library presents a pictorial timeline of the women’s suffrage movement in Illinois. The timeline will feature dolls dressed in period wear to represent women on the homefront and in service during WWI, and women who marched and demonstrated for the right to vote. The RPL’s Youth Services department will also create a 1920s voting booth for children to explore. The timeline will be on display from August 1st until autumn. The voting booth will remain open through the 2020 election cycle. This display is part of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial, celebrating 100 years of women’s right to vote.
