Event Description

McHenry County Conservation District invites you to view “Walks in the Woods” a quilt art exhibit by Frieda Anderson on display December 8-February 3 at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Rt. 31 and Harts Rd., Ringwood. This exhibit is free and is open to the public Daily, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.: closed December 24, 25, 31 and January 1.
Frieda’s original quilts are inspired by the everyday scenery that surrounds her and the colors of the mid-west landscape she lives in. She works with her own hand dyed cotton and silk fabrics. The dyeing process is always an adventure. The ways the dyed fabric look influence the rhythm of her work and the way she uses color in her pieces and often affects how she quilts her quilts. Trees and leaves are a big part of what influences her designs.
