Illinois Governor JB Pritzker Announces Tougher Measures for Northwest Illinois.

CREDIT CAPITOL NEWS ILLINOIS

After a member of his staff recently tested positive for COVID-19, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker  Wednesday gave his weekly  briefing from quarantine, and reported nine out of 11 regions have seen positivity rates decline, over the last two weeks.  But  Region one, in the northwest part of the state, has surpassed a positivity rate of eight percent for three days in a row.  As a result, the Governor says, stricter measures will be in force, including no indoor bar service or dining in that region.

"These rules are not meant to be a punishment.  But we have got to keep people healthy and safe. "

IDPH Director Dr.  Ngozi Ezike says with Halloween coming up, it's important to know, halloween  masks, do not replace traditional safety masks.

"Whether a child, or an adult a costume mask, is not a substitute for face covering."

Ezike added for regions under Phase four, Haunted Houses will not be permitted.
