WNIJ news – Three tornadoes touched down in northern Illinois Sunday night. That's according to the National Weather Service. Officials say the twisters hit near Stillman Valley, Adeline and Polo. Meanwhile, clean up efforts continue in the Rockford-area, which saw most of the storm damage. Com-ed says as of Tuesday morning, fewer than one thousand customers remain without power. Rockford School District officials have closed Kennedy Middle School for the rest of the academic year. The school, which was slated for closure due to budget cuts, lost part of its roof. Classes for Kennedy students will resume May 31st at West Middle School.
