Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner hosts a statewide school visit Thursday … but maybe not in the way you think.
Gov. Rauner invited school classrooms across Illinois to join him during his visit. This time around, though, his visit will be through a Facebook Live stream.
Students can post questions to the governor’s Facebook page before or during the live event. The purpose of the event is for Rauner to answer questions from students about what he does as governor and about education in the state.
A Springfield elementary school class will be at the Capitol with the governor during the event. Rockford and Crystal Lake school officials say no one plans to partake in the event in their districts at this time.
The Facebook Live stream is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday.
